Parent/Guardian Info Series
Understanding the latest trends and risks that youth face is crucial for effective parenting. Our Parent/Guardian Info Series offers monthly events that provide up-to-date information and practical advice on topics such as:
- Internet Safety: Learn how to protect your children from online dangers.
- Gaming Addictions: Understand the signs of gaming addiction and how to manage screen time.
- Cell Phone Safety: Tips on ensuring your child’s smartphone usage is safe and responsible.
- Bullying: Strategies to recognize, prevent, and address bullying.
- Drug and Alcohol Use: Information on how to talk to your children about the risks of substance use.
These sessions are designed to keep parents and guardians informed and help them make proactive choices that support their children’s well-being.
Parenting without Power Struggles
BGC Parenting Programs are family-centered, based on concepts in attachment theory and focused on strengths. We believe in respectful, non-punitive parenting and place family relationships first in all situations.
Facilitated by professionals, our programs help participants learn about respectful communication, adolescent development, setting personal boundaries, and the importance of parental self-care. Most importantly, our programs help parents understand that they are not alone in their parenting challenges and receive support from other parents experiencing similar issues.
Parenting Without Power Struggles is a 10-week education and group support program for parents of preteens who want to develop new skills and knowledge, increase their confidence as parents, and support their preteens’ transition into adolescence.
