The Skilled4Success Program at BGC Fort Saskatchewan is a youth employment program that involves a series of interactive sessions. It provides tools and guidance to support young people, including those facing employment barriers, in being successful in the world of work.
What is the Skilled4Success Program?
The Skilled4Success Program is an 8 to 15-week, year-round youth employment initiative made possible by BGC Canada and ESDC. This program is tailored to support youth in building job readiness and overcoming barriers to employment while offering quality work experiences and mentorship opportunities.
Program Overview
- Skills Training: Learn essential job skills, resume building, and interview techniques.
- Practical Experience: Gain hands-on experience by working 20 hours weekly in a real-world job environment.
- Earn minimum wage: Participants are paid for their work and earn up to a $350 completion bonus for successfully finishing the program.
- Job Readiness Support: Receive mentorship and job shadowing to develop professional skills and confidence.
- Childcare Training: Opportunity to complete Level 1 Childcare certification.
- Out-of-School Program Experience: Work with children and youth ages 6-12 in our Out-of-School Program.
- Tools to Overcome Employment Barriers: Receive guidance and resources to overcome any challenges that may impact your ability to find or keep employment.
